Lauren Fedoruk

Since beginning dance lessons at the age of 3, Lauren has found a true passion in performing and beginning to teach dance.  Lauren has been dancing at Studio One Dance for 13 years and has been trained in styles such as ballet, jazz, tap, pointe, lyrical, musical theatre, hip hop, contemporary and national.

Lauren as a competitive dancer has achieved many accolades.  She won 1st overall for her lyrical solos at Thunderstruck Canada in 2014 and 2015.  She was also awarded The Broadway Artists Alliance of New York Scholarship (2016) and NUVO Scholarship (2015) through Thunderstruck Canada.  In 2015, at Midwest Starz in Wisconsin Dells, Lauren won 1st and 2nd overall with 2 of her solos as well as gaining the title of Miss Teen Starz of the competition. At our local Festival, she has won numerous 1st place standings and Scholarships for her tap solos throughout the years.

Lauren has been examined in the British Association of Teachers of Dance (B.A.T.D.) exam syllabi since she was 4 years old.  She has completed up to Elementary Ballet, Grade 5 Tap and Grade 5 Jazz receiving top Honours marks in all.  In addition to completing these exams Lauren has also competed at the Trixie Hardy B.A.T.D. Theatre Dance Scholarships in Toronto where she has won the Junior Ballet Scholarship (2013), Junior Jazz Scholarship (2014) and Best Potential Junior Tap Scholarships (2014, 2015).

Along with being a competitive dancer and focusing on exams, Lauren has performed with professional companies. In 2011 Lauren performed as a Munchkin in the National Tour of The Wizard of Oz.  She has also performed two feature roles in the Minnesota Ballet’s production of The Nutcracker; Clara (2011 and 2012) and Madeleine (2014 and 2015).

In Lauren’s spare time, she continues to improve her dance technique.  She attended contemporary focused FRESH Dance Intensives (Toronto and Stratford) and ballet intensives in Edmonton, Toronto (SunDance), Los Angeles (RAD USA) and Winnipeg (RWB).  Lauren has also attended many tap workshops in Detroit, Vancouver, New York and Toronto.  She has enjoyed working with many tap masters: David Cox, Gregg Russell, Jason Janas, Chloe Arnold, Sara Reich, Avi Miller and Ofer Ben, Everett Smith, Sam Webber and Suzy Guarino.  Most recently Lauren attended the Broadway Artists Alliance on scholarship in New York City where she worked with top choreographers and casting agents from Broadway.  She was also accepted into Jason Janas’ Elite Tap Crew where she performed alongside other dedicated tappers in August 2016.
